The only catch is that said ex must be a U.K. citizen. Lawmakers in Great Britain have announced plans to introduce new legislation making revenge porn a criminal offense punishable by up to two years in prison. The law will apply to explicit images and videos sent via text message or email, as well as those uploaded to websites or social networks including Facebook and Twitter. Distributing physical photos in person will also be outlawed.

"Circulating intimate photos of an individual without their consent is never acceptable," said Nicky Morgan, minister for women and equalities. "People are entitled to expect a reasonable level of respect and privacy. It is right that those who do circulate these images are held to account, and that we educate young people to the hurt that can be caused by breaking this trust.”
Over on this side of the pond, laws banning revenge porn are slowly taking shape. States such as California, Georgia, Idaho, Utah, Virginia, and Arizona have taken action in the past year to criminalize this invasive behavior.
