Attention Spring Awakening fans: Teen Vogue has a treat for you. Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff (a.k.a. Wendla and Melchior, or Rachel Berry and Jesse St. James for those Gleeks out there) reunite for a candid interview in the publication's March issue. And, as expected, it's quite the charmer.
Sitting at a favorite Venice, California haunt, the two talk about everything from Groff's near-miss vomit on stage to Glee to Cory Monteith. "I somehow feel the insane love Cory and I had for each other morphed into this strength that I have right now," Michele explains. "There's just something about knowing he's watching everything I'm doing and feeling like I have to do everything now not just for me but for him."

Currently, Michele is on the brink of beginning her promotional tour for her debut solo album, Louder, an album she says is "obviously pop, but I think it shows me off as a singer." (If you've listened to the pre-release tracks, you'd know she's not exaggerating when she says that. Between "Cannonball" and "Louder," it's clear Michele's pipes aren't going to be just another element to some pop song, they're the main event.)
Groff and Michele's conversation is as endearing as it is inspiring. As Groff puts it, this isn't some regular interview, it's his chance "to ask the questions only a best friend is allowed to ask," only we're flies on the wall this time.

"He was such a fan, you don't understand," Michele says regarding Monteith's reaction to the album. "He would be like, 'You're going to be a pop star! What are we going to do? Are we going to, like, go on the road?' He would say, 'This is going to be big!' And I'd be like, 'I don't know.' He heard every song and gave me his notes on everything. He loved 'Battlefield.' I'm getting chills thinking about it. I would say 'Burn with You' was his favorite. He came into the studio that day."
The full interview between Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff in Teen Vogue's March issue hits stands February 4, 2014. (Teen Vogue)
