Boost Your Arts I.Q. With The Fridge’s Amazing New Show

IMG_0977slide
One of our favorite tucked-away spots for inspiration, The Fridge has a knack for pulling together the coolest artists and most creative exhibitions. The small art space off Barracks Row is known for pushing boundaries, and the latest show, titled Pia Mater, is no exception. Artists Jenny Sawle and Ashleigh Werner collaborate on Allegoria, a combination of couture design and illustration that results in clothing items covered in painstakingly intricate drawings. The duo is teaming up with sculptor Emily Francisco for the show, and filling the gallery with a series of new works, including a fabric couch completely covered in Werner's incredible sketches. We highly recommend planning a visit to scope out the show before it closes April 28. Who knows? You might just be inspired to start doodling again.
When: Now through Sunday, April 28. Performance art event on Saturday, April 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: The Fridge, 516 1/2 8th Street SE; 202-550-2208.
