Congratulations, D.C: We’re Officially The Most Awesome City In The US

Finally, researchers are confirming what we Washingtonians have known for years: The District is the best city in the entire country — well, basically. The Economics Intelligence Unit (the go-to org when it comes to city rankings) recently released its newest list of the best cities to live in, and D.C. took the top spot in the U.S. Using the "Liveability Index."
The ranking takes into account characteristics like urban sprawl, green space, and cultural assets, among others. Not too surprisingly, the global Top 10 is filled with foreign locales (think Hong Kong, Sydney, and Stockholm), with the DMV coming in at a not-too-shabby 14.

While we can't claim to be liveability experts, we agree whole-heartedly with the honors — between our breathtaking waterfronts, fascinating museums, top-notch restos, and, of course, amazing people, D.C. really does have it all. Not to toot our own horn or anything, but we think it's about time everybody jumped on the bandwagon. (Smart Planet)
