Elizabeth Taylor’s Jewelry Collection Goes For Over $100 Million

We told you the Elizabeth Taylor auction was gonna be maj-or, and of course, we were right— we just didn't know just how right we'd be. But the staggering numbers prove that her legend lives on—her loot doubled the record for a collection of jewelry ever sold. Taylor's iconic pieces — including the 16th century pearl "La Peregrina" painted by Velazquez and a blinding 33.19 karat diamond ring from Richard Burton, among others — were collectively sold for $115 million, marking this as one of the greatest private jewelry collections, aside from Queen Elizabeth's. Let's just wait and see what kind of damage the British do clawing over her art when it goes on sale in London in February. Our prediction? More record breaking. (Huffington Post)
