Duster Jackets: Not Just For Cowboys Anymore

    You already have a classic trench, a trusty raincoat, and that cropped, pastel wonder that probably ate up most of last year's tax refund. These days we're cooing over another breed of spring outerwear: the duster jacket. It's longer than a standard coat but surprisingly lightweight — perfect for April days that start off cool and turn balmy by afternoon.

    These airy, loose-fitting pieces hark back to the wild, wild West, but today's iterations won't bring to mind spurs and tumbleweed. The 11 dusters ahead have come a long way since the days of the horse and buggy, and this season's crop features a range of neutrals, prints, and colors, which means there's something for everyone. They'll instantly dress up jeans and will look great paired with work dresses as well as chic, off-duty outfits. Plus, who can say no to a midi, in coat form or otherwise?
