A DIY Donut Bar Arrives In L.A.

donutBODY
Baked apples. Goat cheese. Sriracha. Not exactly the ingredients you'd expect at a donut shop, but L.A.'s Donut Friend isn't your run-of-the-mill, fried-dough joint.
Officially putting Krispy Kreme and Winchell's to shame, this new Highland Park shop offers a totally DIY experience. Using dozens of fillings, glazes, and toppings, you can craft your very own donut, which will be made fresh just for you. If you'd rather stick to traditional flavors, they've got those, too — think chocolate glaze, rainbow sprinkles, and more.
Founded by music producer Mark Trombino, Donut Friend definitely takes the humble donut to a whole new level. Apologies in advance for making you break your diet (but it's so worth it!).
Where: Donut Friend, 5107 York Boulevard (at North Avenue 51), Highland Park; 213-995-6191.
