Cinderella’s Glass Slipper Gets Reinvented; Solves The “Oops, Lost A Shoe” Problem

There seems to be a Cinderella collaboration dropping every week, even several months after the most recent movie version was in the theaters. For grown-ass women who haven’t fantasized about glass slippers, these collabs are generally more interesting as ideas of what to give your nieces for their birthdays, but this Reebok x Disney collaboration shoe is one you might get behind yourself.

The Reebok Insta Pump Fury is a — how should we say — challenging shoe for even the most die-hard of sneakerheads, but it's currently hyped among fans of the second coming of the ’90s. The shoes are big and puffy, with soles that look like Clydesdale hooves, and uber-macho in an aggressive-slam-dunking kind of way. That said, their Cinderella-fication comes as a delightful juxtaposition, with its pinkish-purple iridescent paneled upper, a clock on the air pump, and a butterfly adorning the back of the heel (call us old — for those of you who also didn’t understand what a butterfly had to do with Cinderella, it’s apparently a big motif in the 2015 live-action movie).

Now, we don’t necessarily condone wearing sneakers to a black-tie event (especially if said event is the biggest ball in all the land), but these would look really great with a summer minidress or a no-frills sundress. Plus, we’re sure that if Cinderella had been wearing these instead of glass slippers, she might never have lost a shoe in the first place. Who cares if Prince Charming wouldn’t have been able to use it to find her — girl could have run to the next city over in these Reeboks and become an international fashion designer with her pick of any partner.
