The 11 Best Looks From The CFDA Awards

It's easy to draw comparisons between major style events and, well, everything else. To say the Met Gala is like an A-list prom wouldn't be far off, and to call the CFDA Awards the Oscars of the fashion world wouldn't be an understatement, either. So, you can imagine that at Monday’s CFDA cocktail party and awards ceremony, the nominated designers, their muses, and editors alike put on their red-carpet finest for a turn in the sartorial spotlight.
While the looks ranged from fancy pantsuits to — ahem — Rihanna, it seemed the outfits overall were more demure than we expected from the industry’s biggest hotshots. Metallic dresses reflected swarming paparazzi bulbs on Solange and Naomi Campbell, while Marion Cotillard, Karlie Kloss, and Sophia Bush kept things crisp and light in white, structured dresses. As for best accessory designer winners Mary-Kate and Ashley? Well, we'd venture to say they're the only pair we know that can pull off caftans and kitten heels on the red carpet.
