It Brits, street style, parties, shows, and more from London Fashion Week. By Piera Gelardi
If you've been reading our Twitter lately, you'd know we've been in London. Straight off the tails of New York Fashion Week, we hopped a plane to Heathrow, Tubed it to the May Fair hotel, and then straight on to the Opening Ceremony/Chloë Sevigny party…no rest for the wicked! London style is so much more exuberant (just look at Susie Bubble!) and that translates to the runways as well—the catwalks here are often bigger, brighter, and more experimental than back home. So, needless to say, we had fun documenting all the leopard, hats, veils, and color on the street, runways, and parties during our stay. Enjoy!
On the way to the Opening Ceremony/Chloë Sevigny party we had to snap a pic of these two girls in the Tube wearing their matching hot pink leg warmers. Love that they're also walking in synch. My little fashion twin!
Front row at Topshop: Poppy Delevingne, director Johan Renck, Lydia Hearst, and Daisy Lowe.
We loved the sequin socks at Topshop! Braided and tangled at Topshop.
From left: A trio of expressive dressers outside Basso & Brooke. So London! For stylish Brits, vintage rules.
Basking in the glorious weather (daffodils are blooming)! A British Clark Kent.
A detour to Brick Lane for some Indian food and Kingfisher. Yummers!
Siouxie Sioux is engulfed in a swarm of photographers at Vivienne Westwood.
From left: Cecilia Dean strikes a pose at her party with James Kaliardos and Nicholas Kirkwood. Her sick Kirkwood for Rodarte shoes (be careful on those stairs!).
Leigh Lezark cranking the tunes at V mag party. It wouldn't be a fashion week without a run-in with the MisShapes, now would it?
From left: When we walked into the Opening Ceremony/Chloë preview on Sunday morning, we thought "wow, the other reporters are so cute." Duh, those are models. Thankfully someone offered us a coffee. Chloë with two friends modeling her new collection for Opening Ceremony.
From left: This cutie from Oyster mag invited us to the pub for a beer after the Christopher Kane show but we lost her in the crowd. Sad! Back in black outside of Chris Kane.
Fashion foible on the runway at Eley Kishimoto.
The NYC crew, from right: Alex Hawgood from T, Whitney Vargas from Elle, Elle's Kate Lanphear, Andreas Kokkino from The New York Times, T's Melissa Ventosa-Martin.
From left: A model leaving Louise Goldin. The finale at Marios Schwab.
From left: Pops of blue (and stripes!) outside the LFW tents. Windblown models looking chic in comfy shoes. It Brits, street style, parties, shows, and more from London Fashion Week.
