We've Never Seen Wedding Tents Done Like This Before

Most of us can agree that camping does not suck. In fact, it’s pretty damn awesome. So, it’s easy to see why someone would want to turn her big day into one gigantic outdoor love fest in the heart of the California countryside.

Designer Brittany Castanos-Osborne — cofounder of bridal-wear line Daughters of Simone — and her fiancé Jeff Osborne got hitched last August in the Yosemite Valley, and their nuptials took the term glamping to the next level. Upscale tents adorned the palatial plot of land, giving every inch of the meadow a luxe, bohemian feel. Inside the massive canvas tents were grandiose chandeliers, golden Moroccan poufs, decorative rugs, full-service bars, and more.

"We always knew we wanted to get married in the middle of nowhere and be able to camp out the entire weekend," Castanos-Osborne tells Refinery29. "On a free weekend, Jeff and I both love to hit the mountains...in search of a remote place to camp out, start a fire, listen to some blues, and sleep under the stars. For us, there’s nothing better."

We’d have to agree. Just one peek at the pics and we’re getting major decor envy. If we could live in any wedding, this might be it.

"I still can't believe how gorgeous Pow Wow made the entire reception setup," says Castanos-Osborne. "I was in complete awe. There were layers upon layers of Moroccan rugs, plush couches and chairs, poufs everywhere, cabanas that blew beautifully in the wind, and even a crochet hammock that you could take a snooze in if you wanted to. I couldn't have dreamt up anything more mesmerizing in my wildest dreams. When our guests walked down into the meadow and started seeing everything there, eyes popped out of their heads. We just kept hearing, 'Wow!' 'Wow!' all over the place."

The couple provided an array of activities for guests' amusement. "We started the weekend off on Friday, doing the wedding rehearsal and then 'story time' with all of our close friends and family. Anyone could get up and tell a story about the bride and groom. It was so nice to hear from people who've known us the longest and who we've shared such a long history with," says Castanos-Osborne.

Here's a view of the tents with the rug-covered dance floor. "We enlisted Shelter Co. to provide gorgeous tents for our wedding party to sleep in throughout the weekend, and a slew of equally talented other vendors who turned the meadow into a magical, bohemian festival oasis," says Castanos-Osborne.

Brittany and her flock of bridesmaids wore custom Daughters of Simone dresses. "I think the days of girls all wearing the same dress are coming to a big, fat end," says Castanos-Osborne. "I really wanted all of my girls to wear something they loved and looked amazing in. So I just told them, 'Hey, I have this fabric and this trim, you tell me — what do you want to wear?' From there, we worked on the designs together. Everyone had a different style. Some want something sexy, some want something simple, and some want something more tomboy. I always feel like if your bridesmaids don’t like what they are wearing, it shows."

Sealed with a kiss. We love the bride's airy, long-sleeved dress, which she designed herself. "I'm a sucker for long sleeves and crochet lace, so that was always a done deal," Castanos-Osborne tells us. "However, I didn't finalize the design until about two months before the wedding. It was tough for me to decide! And I didn't even get my gown back from our seamstress until the day of the rehearsal dinner. That would probably freak a lot of brides out, but since I had an entire office full of 'backups' I wasn't worried."

Wildflowers adorned the pretty naked cakes. The couple went with a buffet-style menu from Pardini's, which allowed for a variety of different food options.
