It's not every day that the DMV gets an event trifecta like The Front Row, at the cluster of shops and restaurants comprising Bethesda Row. The annual, three-day soiree brings in top-notch talent for book signings while highlighting local shopping, current fashion trends, and a fashion-film premiere. Ahead, we're breaking down the must-attend events for the weekend:
On Thursday, the spotlight is on the new documentary The Tents, about the rise of New York Fashion Week. The screening at Landmark Theater will be followed by a discussion with the film's director and producer (moderated by your very own D.C. editor). RSVP here.

On Friday, actress and author Jessica Alba will sign copies of her book, The Honest Life, about her experiences as a mom, celeb, and founder of a new company devoted to healthy living. At 7:30 p.m., catch The Front Row runway show, which highlights 15 local retailers through a mix of spring, summer, and fall looks. Expect beauty events and a street-style photo booth to round out the festivities.
Saturday's events are targeted toward the youngest style setters, so bring your little ones to a Lego extravaganza, painting party, kids' Zumba class, and more.
Thursday through Saturday, a bounty of Bethesda Row shops will host trunk shows, offer discounts, and otherwise entice shoppers with cool promos. Some options to add to your to-do list: A Bobbi Brown makeover party at Bluemercury, summery trunk shows at Sassanova, a DL1961 denim event and raffle at Luna, and free makeup touch-ups at Aveda. See a complete list here.
When: Thursday, May 16, through Saturday, May 18.
Where: Various shops and restaurants along Bethesda Row, on Bethesda Lane between Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue.
