The Ugly Ducklings And The (Black) Swans Of The SAG Awards

The SAG Awards are the ultimate in insider awards shows—actors nominating and voting for other actors equals huge industry circle-jerk love-fest. Luckily, it seems like some of that love spilled over onto the red carpet, and for the most part, the ladies looked amazing. Even the few missteps were minor, but we do have some pointers on how some of the ladies could amp up their oomph factor. Overall, we rate this awards a much bigger sartorial success than the Golden Globes, which, admittedly, simultaneously made us want to fall asleep and slam the remote against our foreheads. Now that the gals are on top of their games—bring on the Oscars! (PopSugar)

1 of 10
Best—Natalie Portman: Reactions to Portman's Golden Globes gown were mixed, but she unequivocally dazzles in this Azarro number.

2 of 10
Best—Claire Danes: One of the best dressed at the Globes in Calvin Klein, Danes picks another winner—albeit a softer, feminine floral Louis Vuitton.

3 of 10
Best—January Jones: Taking a respite from her usual Versace, January stuns in this baroque lace Carolina Herrara.

4 of 10
Best—Mila Kunis: We think it's very hard to go wrong with Alexander McQueen on the red carpet, and Mila Kunis proves our theory. The color and fit are divine, and we love the drama of the train.

5 of 10
Best—Hailee Steinfeld: This may very well be our favorite awards show look ever. Having hit it out of the park in Prabal Gurung at the Globes, Hailee Steinfeld ups the ante (we didn't think it was possible) with this straight-off-the-runway Prada Spring 2011 dress. Cutting edge, age-appropriate, and gorgeous, we can't wait to see what Hailee has in store for the Oscars. Color us amazed.

6 of 10
Worst—Jane Lynch: It's hard to criticize Jane Lynch at all since she's one of the funniest people out there, but this lavender cake-topper does her no service. A superstar comedienne deserves more!

7 of 10
Worst—Carla Buono: We loved that she almost turned Don Draper into a serious relationship man, but this number overwhelms her petite figure.

8 of 10
Worst—Jenna Fischer: We love that Jenna chose to wear Fendi (which you don't often see on the red carpet), but this gown looks like it may have been borrowed from Pam's wardrobe closet—and that's not a good thing.

9 of 10
Worst—Angie Harmon: We love a good princess dress, but this feather cotton-candy concoction makes even the flawlessly statuesque Angie Harmon look a bit silly.

10 of 10
Worst—Jenna Ushkowitz: Jenna's hair and accessories look fabulous, but this champagne gown looks a bit inexpensive and like it has some fit and wrinkle problems.
