We're constantly combing the internet for the next best way to do our eyeliner, braid our hair, exfoliate our skin, and more; all the while, keeping a close eye on the smart and sassy bloggers who are coming up with the newest, freshest ideas. Anyone can start a beauty blog, but the blogs that keep us coming back for more aren't run by just anyone — their founders are some of the most stunning, in-the-know babes this side of the Interwebs.

Here, we've rounded up our favorite new beauty blogs — the stellar ones we think are destined for online stardom. Bookmark them now so you, too, can say you were reading them before they got huge. And, let us know what beauty blogs you're obsessing over — we can all benefit from sharing this kind of privileged info, no?

Beauty Is Boring

We have a blog crush on Beauty Is Boring, by makeup artist and photographer Robin Black. And it's not just about the irreverent name. This blog, which is more of a long-running photo essay, is gorgeous, surprising, always original, and yet understated — it features just the looks and brief, poetic descriptions. Though not all of the makeup looks are completely wearable in day-to-day life (a bandit mask painted on with red lipstick, for example), we find ourselves taking copious notes on how to copy Black's pro techniques. You'll come for the looks and stay for the writing: With descriptions like "shimmering universe of soft black across her eyelids," nothing on Beauty Is Boring is expected, and that's why we love it.

August Skin

Ashley Weatherford claims to be a self-identified nerd, but all we see when we look at her is a girl who really knows what she's talking about — we are simultaneously jealous of her perfect skin and eternally grateful that she writes about her skin-care tricks. Plus, she subscribes to the same belief system that we do — that makeup should be, above all else, fun.

Weatherford's site, August Skin, won't be under the radar for too much longer. Between the spot-on product recommendations, pretty pictures, and addictive writing, you can bet that other beauty mavens are going to take notice, if they haven't already.

A Model Recommends

Ruth Crilly is one of the few beauty bloggers out there whose life work positions her to truly be a makeup expert (aside from makeup artists, that is). As a professional model with 10 years of experience and counting, it's her job to find the most effective products and the prettiest looks out there — and, lucky for all of us, she's made it her other job to write about it on A Model Recommends. Since she's not obligated to write nice things about the brands she works for, Crilly only shares the makeup tips that are working for her. This site is beauty-blog gold.

Cult of Pretty

Ann Colville Somma is not your average beauty blogger: As a long-time participant in the beauty industry, she's not easily impressed. As she puts it, "When you work in a donut factory, you don’t exactly crave donuts." So, you can bet that the tips, tricks, and product recommendations she divulges on Cult of Pretty are truly the best of the best — we trust her to not waste our time on anything that's less than perfect.

We especially love her focus on little-known beauty products. In a world where everyone we know has at least three of the same lipsticks, Somma is just the lady we need to expand our horizons of prettiness.

She's In The Glow

She's In The Glow is written by Annie Atkinson — you might recognize her as our newest Beauty Nation contributor. We know her as the makeup minimalist who always recommends the best skin care products, has gorgeous photos on her blog, and writes like a literary angel. We're thrilled to have her here on R29, but you should check out her personal beauty blog, too: Let us be the first to tell you that she knows what she's doing.

The Raeviewer

Rae, the friendly, approachable face of The Raeviewer , seems like someone we could definitely be friends with. This former beauty pageant makeup artist isn't afraid to get real with her tutorials, like telling her readers about her hormone-related skin problems and what she uses to hide and heal them. We love her how-to videos, and somehow feel convinced to buy new products just based on her product shots alone.

Charlotte Tilbury

We straight up adore veteran makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, and have followed her 20-year-long career with a mix of admiration and awe. So, obviously, we were beyond thrilled to discover that she has a blog. Who wouldn't want makeup tips from an artist whose client list has included Kate Moss and Penelope Cruz? If you're looking for how-to videos on attaining the illusion of a nose job with just a few swipes of product, or doing your makeup like a Tom Ford runway model, or you just like to read sentences that include the words "my great friend Kate Moss," you'll go crazy for this gorgeous and enormously talented gal, too.

Nail Art Junkie

Think when it comes to nail art, you've seen it all? Prepare to have your manicured mind blown. The Nail Art Junkie (a.k.a. MAC senior artist Keri Blair) uses everything from studs and sequins to googly eyes in her digit decor, and we're so into it. While we might not want to copy everything she does (our dogs certainly wouldn't appreciate some of the spikier iterations) it sure is fun to look at. Not to mention the fact that Blair has the inside track on all things MAC, so you'll sometimes catch a sneak peek of what she and the other artists are up to.

I Covet Thee

We try not to judge books by their covers, nor beauty bloggers by their visages, but we were originally drawn to I Covet Thee by the face its creator, Alix. We could tell just by looking at her that girlfriend knows her way around a tube of lipstick, and her blog doesn't disappoint. We even love her thoughtfully-arranged product shots, and reading her posts makes us feel thoroughly convinced to buy things we definitely don't need — which we're okay with.
