Found: This Need-To-Know Designer Nails Ageless Fashion

We are firm believers that when it comes to style, ageism has no place. But, no matter our own opinions, pop culture at large seems to be largely youth-obsessed. Our industry plays no small part in perpetuating the problem, but there's hope in Ammara's resort '13 collection, the latest offerings from under-the-radar NYC designer Ammara Yaqub's eponymous brand.

To the marketplace littered with low-cut babydolls and ever-shrinking shirts, Ammara levels a line that reasons down high hemlines and cleans up summer silhouettes. From a palette of papaya, sapphire blue, cream and yellow, come sophistcated pieces like the accordion floral sundress and a pattern-matching jumpsuit. Their gorgeously lush tropical floral print is picked up in the color-blocked cardis and airy knits, but the cocktail numbers are definitely our pick for 'most age neutral piece' (read: flowing chiffon means figure-friendly). On the younger side of things, there's a leather shell and some black and white shorties, but still, these looks say timeless, not trendy.
