One of Swim Week's favorite pattern-obsessed designers has Cuba on the brain. For her spring '12 collection, Mara Hoffman takes inspiration from our southern neighbors, in a major way. We're talking intese prints, wild neons, and some lush jungle backdrops, to start with.
When was asked her about the Olivia Malone-shot campaign (which stars the brutally sexy Nykhor), Hoffman had this to say: "We were going for something rich with ceremony and sexy yin witchery, pulling references from Cuban and Caribbean environments." Her spot-on swimwear feels spiritual and spooking, and, as always, her collection is as colorful as it is strong.
