These New Covers Will Divide Taylor Swift Fans Forever

What kind of Swiftie are you? Or, more to the point, when is Swift's music there for you? Do you crank "Shake It Off" for every party and workout, and put on "Mean" when your haters are hating? Or do you have a Swift playlist to unwind, using "Wildest Dreams" to soothe you as you drift into your own? Whichever camp you fall in, today there's a new Swift cover for you. First, the most anticipated set of Taylor covers, Ryan Adams' treatment of every song on 1989.
His slow-jam take on "Shake It Off" makes it so mellow that even your most "alternative" teen self would have loved it. "Bad Blood" becomes something like a newly-discovered Third Eye Blind track, one perfectly suited to the final scene of a CW show, when the high school protagonist realizes she and her friends have grown apart, but that's just part of growing up.

On the other hand, for Taylor devotees who depend on her tracks to get their blood pumping and their moods elevated, there's mash-up master Todrick Hall. Hall branches out from 1989 to some of Swift's greatest hits, making "Love Story" super danceable. Whichever covers you gravitate toward, it's a good day to be a Taylor Swift fan. And, as with every other day, a good day to be Taylor Swift.
