This Friends Theory About Ross & His Son Will Break Your Heart

What if Ross Geller actually lost custody of his first child, Ben? There we said it.

Now, let's start from the beginning: Blogger D.F. Lovett theorizes that although Friends viewers are introduced to Ross' son with Carol in season one, he only makes sporadic appearances throughout the series, and then downright vanishes — never to be heard from again — in season 8 when Rachel and Ross have a baby.

And Lovett's point is a good one. If your half-sister was just born into this world, wouldn't you be there to witness it? Or, Ross could have at least mentioned why his other child isn't there to witness the miracle of the second. C'mon Friends writers, there are, oh, about million things they could have done to address this issue.

Lovett goes on to write, "Think about everything we know about Ross. He’s very jealous. He’s possessive. He’s arguably emotionally-abusive. He believes in the friend zone and has symptoms of a Men’s Rights Activist. And as the seasons unfold, narrowing down to the ending where he and Rachel end up ostensibly happy every after, he seems to be coming completely unhinged."

And with that, our world is shattered. If you need us, we'll just be over here trying to pick up the pieces of our broken heart.
