Details surrounding Kylie Jenner's 18th birthday celebration last weekend are still trickling in. Specifically, it's her second party in Canada that has everyone asking questions. So what exactly has everyone up in arms? Apparently Jenner was paid between $100,000 (says the New York Daily News) to $200,000 (says Page Six) to make an appearance at her own party.
Either way you slice it, it's really no different from the many other birthdays the Kardashian/Jenner clan has cashed in on, many of which we've heard discussed on their reality show. This also includes mom Kris, who recently celebrated her birthday by making a paid appearance in Las Vegas, at the urging of Scott Disick.
The party was held at Beachclub on the idyllic island of Pointe-Calumet in Quebec, located just north of Montreal. The party was sponsored by Belvedere vodka (18 is the legal drinking age in that part of the world) and the InList mobile app. Jenner told a reporter from Teen Vogue who was invited to attend the soireé, "I didn’t think [adulthood] would feel any different, but now, everyone’s going up to me and being like ‘Do you want a drink?’ and I’m like, ‘This is so weird!’ But it’s cool, it’s fun, it’s different."
Reports that Jenner's friends destroyed the $3,000 cake created for the party are verifiable via photos captured at the event. Frankly, throwing cake at the crowd looks like a lot of fun!
Page Six also reported that Jenner displayed some "diva"-esque behavior, by refusing to change in the VIP bathroom, instead asking to be driven to a different restroom between 50 to 100 feet away. Complex reports that she didn't spend any significant time with her fans at all, preferring to stay in her private section of the club.
Jenner's publicist did not respond to requests for comment about the party at press time.
