Pecan Pie M&M’s Are Really Happening

It's only August, but somehow, we're already talking about the holidays. In fact, I've already said the words "pumpkin spice" more times than I can count this week. Without warning, we've moved on to Thanksgiving flavors. According to The Impulse Buy, a shopper spotted the latest limited-edition holiday candy at a Walmart this week. And this year, instead of going classic pumpkin, M&M's is trying out another Turkey Day dessert favorite — pecan pie. Based on the photo, it looks as though Pecan Pie M&M's come in crust, filling, and whipped cream colors. While some pecan pies do feature chocolate, the pie part of these holiday-inspired candies are artificial flavoring.
A spokesperson for M&M's says the new flavor will be available at Walmart locations during the "Halloween timeframe," so expect them to roll-out sporadically over the next couple of months. Last year, M&M's featured limited-time only candy apple M&M's and the year before that, it was pumpkin spice. The brand is quickly running out of classic fall flavors, but maybe next August we'll spot cranberry or pear. For now, cue the temporary return to summer.
