Wow, Kelly Osbourne Just Made An Unbelievably Racist Comment About Latinos

Update: Kelly Osbourne has posted an apology on her Facebook page for the comment she made on the August 4 episode of The View. She writes that while she regrets what she said, she does not believe she is racist. She explains in the post, "In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being racist as I am NOT." Osbourne also offered an apology on Extra on August 5, saying "I'm okay with people calling me whatever they want to call me, however, I'm not okay that I hurt people's feelings. It was my poor choice of words and it doesn't reflect my opinion at all, and I do not want to be pulled into this political nightmare."

Kelly Obsourne's foot, meet Kelly Osbourne's mouth.

During Tuesday's episode of The View, the guest commentator joined the talk show's panel (which includes Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symoné, and Nicolle Wallace) to discuss Donald Trump's now infamous comments about Mexican immigrants. In the process, Osbourne made a racist comment of her own about the Latino community.

Trump's statements — which have landed him in hot water with business partners, fellow politicians, and Jon Stewart, among countless others — have understandably cost him the support of the Latino community.

Osbourne's argument against the presidential hopeful? "If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?" We didn't know it was possible to hear the air being sucked out of a room through a screen, but there you have it.

Osbourne quickly tried to backpedal, especially after reading the stunned reactions on the faces of her co-anchors, but somehow, she only made it worse. When Perez and Symoné reminded her that there are more jobs occupied by the Latino community other than housekeeping, Osbourne assured them she "didn't mean it like that," and, "I'm not part of this argument." Well, you definitely are now, Ms. Osbourne. In fact, you definitely were when you declared you didn't "condone racism" during the whole Giuliana Rancic kerfuffle.

A YouTube user uploaded the footage here:
So, was this a case of actual racism, accidental racism, or simply coming up with the seriously wrong sentiment? Osbourne has not yet released a statement on social media, though Perez actually apologized to Osbourne on Twitter for taking her "point wrong," saying that Osbourne's "heart is so pure & righteous." Even former View co-host Sherri Shepherd cut Osbourne "a little slack, bc I've done it myself ... sometimes isht comes out of your mouth live that you didn't mean to say." Others on Twitter were not as forgiving of Osbourne's reckless statement.

My illegal immigrant turned American citizen mother was too busy taking calls for the business she owns to worry what Kelly Osbourne said.

There's no shame in housekeeping, but the Latina maid stereotype is tired and limiting. Check yourself next time, Kelly Osbourne.

No more free passes. Words mean things. Plus in this world your usage of language is YOUR responsibility. She saw NOTHING WRONG w/it

Perhaps we can agree that it's a bad day for us all when Donald Trump comes out of a race discussion as the one who's left relatively unscathed.
