Hate For the Ghostbusters Reboot Extends to Their Good Deed

In the wise words of Taylor Swift, haters gonna hate.

While a good chunk of the internet has been excitedly gobbling up every behind-the-scenes photo and spoiler from the upcoming Ghostbusters remake, others aren't so happy that the leads with proton packs are women. On August 1, Kristen Wigg, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon donned their jumpsuits and went to visit some of the young patients at Boston's Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. Even while visiting sick patients, angry internet commenters continued to rage at the actresses who dared mess with the beloved '80s movie.

The Ghostbusters cast members stopped by the hospital after a sign with the franchise's famous catch phrase, "who you gonna call," appeared in the window.

Nasty comments directed at the women on the photos posted to the hospital's Facebook page got so bad they had to post a reminder that those kinds of comments would be deleted.

Please remember our Facebook policy is that any comments with profanity will be deleted. Thank you.

While most of the worst comments have been deleted, some remain. In many instances posters directed their opinions toward the cast, rather than the fact the actresses were trying to improve the day for some sick kids.

Luckily there were plenty of people horrified by the mean-spirited behavior, with one Facebook user commenting on a picture of the women posing with a sick baby and its mother, writing, "God you people make me so sick. To the mother of this child I hope you and your family are doing well! I'm sorry for all the rude comments on here and hope you understand that there are some of us out there that are thinking of you and your family and wish you nothing but the best."
