Breaking: Lucky Magazine Shuts Down Print

As of today, Lucky magazine has announced that it will be folding its print edition. This news comes only a month after the former-Conde Nast publication announced that it would be moving to a quarterly printing schedule. According to Fashion Week Daily, The Lucky Group has let go of 14 employees in total, including the remainder of the print team today. However, WWD adds that LuckyShops.com digital team seems to be safe from the recent layoffs at the moment, which was announced during a staff meeting this afternoon. Sadly, this recent news follows in a string of major changes that Lucky has undergone since the announcement that it was joining BeachMint in August of last year to create The Lucky Group. Not only did the staff move out of Conde Nast HQ in November to a temporary office space — where they remain to this day — but at the end of April, the glossy's then editor-in-chief, Eva Chen, announced her resignation. Sources close to the magazine confirm that the June/July issue was pulled from the presses just hours before it was set to be printed. WWD claims that the future of The Lucky Group is still to be determined, as they're still negotiating with a couple investors for an acquisition.
