The best part of any music festival is that moment of discovery. Whether it's a singer-songwriter you've never heard of, or a band that you've been on the fence about, live performances often do the trick. They can leave you obsessed with (or completely over) new voices.

Sure, headliners Drake and Florence + The Machine are worth being stoked about, but there are some newcomers and more seasoned artists who are finally getting the well-deserved spotlight. Now is your chance for the perfect preview. We've rounded up the must-see music newbies to see June this weekend, so get your schedule out and take some notes.

    Vance Joy, "Georgia"
Hozier meets Passenger when it comes to this Australian singer-songwriter. After a stellar performance at last year's Outside Lands in San Francisco, he's continued to snag a noteworthy spot in the industry. His words are relatable and his voice is soothing. You might have heard his catchy hit single "Riptide" off of his debut album Wasted Time (2014). But, that's not his only good one. "Georgia," "Mess Is Mine" and well, the entire album is stellar. You'll have it on repeat in no time.

Angus & Julia Stone, "A Heartbreak"
One word: Revenge. If you followed the ABC series, which recently ended, you've heard these talented siblings. Perhaps you're very familiar with them, as they've been on the scene (together and individually) for a couple of years now. Or, maybe they added to the chills you felt when Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke was sharing their heart-aching quotes. Either way, you won't want to miss them now. Their self-titled second LP rivals the first (A Book Like This, 2007) in the best way possible.

    Holychild, "Running Behind"
Formed while these two were students at George Washington University, the duo (now based in LA) know how to get a crowd going. Their tunes are super fun and funky, and their energy is contagious. Rest up before you hit their stage, because you'll be dancing non-stop. And, don't forget to check out their debut LP, The Shape of Brat Pop to Come, which was just released in early June.

    Marina and the Diamonds, "Forget"
Marina and the Diamonds has been on our radar for quite some time.
Between hits "Froot," and "I am ruin," it's hard not to love her. Whether her vocals are deep and robust or light and airy, they're always complemented by catchy, beat-driven instrumentals. You'll be grooving throughout her entire set.

    Logic, "Under Pressure"
Although the young rapper was recently signed to Def Jam, he's been making raw and riveting music you can jam to for a little less than a decade. He's released four mixtapes, and his critically acclaimed debut album, Under Pressure (2014), officially put him on the hip-hop grid. Be sure to check out "Buried Alive" and "Nikki" while you're at it.
