Zayn Malik Debuts A Fresh New Look

Zayn Malik certainly made a splash with his first public appearance since leaving One Direction last month. The 22-year-old singer appeared on the red carpet of the Asian Awards sans his signature coif. Instead, he opted for a closely shaved head. We're digging the cropped 'do — the lighter look definitely has something freeing about it. And, given that Malik left the band to have a more normal life, it's nice to see him looking unencumbered, by his locks and whatever else. It's also nice to see him with his mom on his arm at the event, which honors the outstanding achievements of Asians across the globe.  So, apart from a potential awkward outgrowth stage, what's next for Malik? The world is still waiting on the singer's next single. In the meantime, his leaked track with producer Naughty Boy will have to suffice. As well as, of course, the occasional haircut update.
