The Trailer For Amy Winehouse's Documentary Will Bring You To Tears

Four years ago the British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse passed away at the young age of 27.  Her deep, rich voice was haunting, her writing raw and riveting. Today, a trailer for the new documentary, Amy, was released.

Directed by BAFTA-winning director Asif Kapadia, Winehouse's story is told through footage taken throughout her life — including hard-to-believe soundbites from interviews. (One example: "I don't think I'm gonna be at all famous.") Other revelations are sadly believable — considering Winehouse's long struggle with addiction — as is her take on becoming famous. "I don't think I could handle it," she said of fame. "I would probably go mad."

Her death was untimely and her craft was ahead of its time. Take a look at the chilling trailer below. The documentary lands in U.K. theaters on July 3 and will be released in the States later this summer.
