Update: Looks like Katy Perry fooled us all on the red carpet. What we thought was her real hair dyed lavender actually turns out to just be a wig. The singer swapped hues during her Grammys performance mid-way through the show, wearing her hair in a sleeked-back brunette ponytail. Sigh, here's hoping she'll color her real locks the next go around. Pastel would be perfect for spring.
With all of the hair changes that Katy Perry has pulled off, you'd think that nothing could surprise us. But, when the singer, fresh off her Super Bowl performance, made her entrance on to the Grammys red carpet, our yells of "oh my god, look at Katy Perry's hair!" were ear-piercing. Katy has dyed her hair a gorgeous lavender shade — and the sneaky minx waited until the red carpet to show it off.
The color, which is really close to Kelly Osbourne's now-signature hue, is a little different than the other hair shades we've seen on Katy recently. We like what's she done here by leaving her black roots visible. It adds a cool edge to the girly shade and looks to be a continuation of the "fashion roots" trend we saw pop up last summer.
