Powerful Images Of Ferguson Protests Around The Country

Late Monday night, a grand jury ruled not to indict Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer who shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, in August. The St. Louis suburb made national headlines for protests and violence that erupted in the wake of Brown's death and continued for weeks afterward.
Soon after the grand jury's decision was announced, unrest broke out across Ferguson once again. NPR reports that police officers near the site of Brown's death were hit with rocks, bottles, and batteries. NPR also reports a police patrol car was set on fire.
Beyond Ferguson, protests began last night around the country. Mostly peaceful, these demonstrations show solidarity with the people of Ferguson and sympathy for Brown's surviving family. The protests are yet another indication that events in this small town have ignited a national conversation about racial justice. Ahead, images of the protests posted to Twitter throughout the night.
