11 Life Lessons You Learned From Pitch Perfect

The trailer for Pitch Perfect 2 hit the web this week, whipping us all into an aca-frenzy about the sequel to the beloved film. Unfortunately, the pitch isn't quite back. We're not going to get pitch-slapped by the sequel until May. May! What sort of douleur exquise is this?
We're going to help with the wait, though. The first movie introduced the Barden Bellas into our lives. They, in turn, provided us all with some pitch-perfect (sorry, I had to) lessons you can apply to pretty much every area of your life if you want to crush it like Fat Amy. Pitch Perfect changed everyone for the better, not just Beca.
So listen up, pitches. Spin your head right round and start l-i-v-i-n...aca-Bella-style.

It doesn’t matter what you do…
As long as you finish with a “Crushed it,” people will assume that was exactly how you intended for it to go down. You nailed it because, duh, you’re aca-awesome.

If you've got it, flaunt it
Although you might want to refrain from confronting other people with your, uh, confidence when they're showering.

You don't have to act on every feeling
Not every thought or urge needs to turn into an action. Making out with that guy might be a bad idea. Doing crystal meth is an even worse one.

You've got the magic
The overall message of Pitch Perfect is "You do you, and everyone else will realize how great you are." If you doing you involves close-up magic, then cast those spells and make that dove disappear, baby.

You control your image
Why does Amy voluntarily call herself "Fat Amy?" "So twig bitches like you don't do it behind my back."

Darth Vader literally means "dark father"
Spoiler alert: Don't bother using the Force, Luke. Just learn German.

Sometimes you have to face hard truths
It's the only way you can change and grow as a person.

When you work together, you can achieve anything
Yeah, yeah, it's cheesy as all hell. But, come on: this final Bella performance — which utilizes every member's unique skills to the utmost advantage — is so great.

Girl power forever
Thanks for the reminder, Bumper. Also: sisters before misters.

It's what's inside that counts
Rebel Wilson really is the gift that keeps on giving.

Make good choices
We will, Beca. We will.
