Welcome To America’s First Cat Cafe

It's official: Oakland, California really is the cat's meow.
Yesterday marked the opening of the first permanent cat cafe in the United States. At Cat Town Cafe in Oakland, California, customers can sip lattes and brunch on bagels before popping into a specially designated area where foster cats roam. Some of the felines have already found homes.
The cafe/foster home was launched thanks to donations and a Kickstarter campaign. The cat area is kept separate from the main cafe, with separate employees and bathrooms in place to keep everything hygienic. Customers are welcome to simply come in for a snack, or can opt to meet cats who are in need of a loving home.

For now, the cats are free to chill in their special Cat Zone. Graffiti artists and designers have created murals and cat homes to add an artistic, feline-friendly touch. Should patrons decide to transport a kitty from these cool digs to their own home, though, all the better.
Go in for a coffee, come out with a Calico? You never know. (Time)
