Today, model Coco Rocha announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband of four years, James Edward Conran. And, suitably for a model known for her internet savvy, she announced her happy news in that most modern of ways: by stripping down to a nude bodysuit, and posting a 360-degree video on Instagram.
Back in 2012, the then 22-year-old model told FASHION magazine that she didn't think a modeling career lent itself particularly well to parenthood. "Right now it would be unfair to have a kid in the mess of all my life," the Daily Mail reported. "But, when my work is done, I would love to have kids with James." My how times have changed — we also hope that part about waiting for her work to be done has changed, too. Surely there's more high kicking and runway stomping to come.
It's been a good month for stylish mamas-to-be. Rocha joins her fellow fashion folks Eva Chen, Yasmin Sewell, and Gigi Guerra, who proved during Fashion Month that maternity style is not all elastic waists and orthopedic flats. Sometimes, it's kooky minidresses and tote bags that announce your due date to the world so you don't have to.
