The Disco Revival Has Arrived Courtesy Of Escort

Sure, the '90s are perennially having its moment, but with the help of New York-based dance orchestra, Escort, the late '70s/early '80s are coming back.
While other electronic dance artists clamor to keep up with the kids, Escort coasts above them, using good 'ol original songwriting and producing to get the people moving. "If You Say So" does just that (officially dropping October 21).
Working with MNDR, Escort's new single is a dizzying mix of confident allure. (Perhaps the L.A. air had something to do with it, as Escort's Eugene Cho told Refinery29 that they flew out to the City of Angels to record the track.) The result is retro music without the pretension; some might call it timeless, but that would degrade how fresh Escort's sound really is. Indeed, Escort and "If You Say So" are a breath of fresh air in a sea of predictable, uninspired dance tracks.
