Freckled ladies, your time has come. Kesha and Demi Lovato have shown off their spots, and it looks like the beauty world is not only embracing them, it's flat-out trying to mimic them. Want proof? Makeup artists are going so far as to paint spots onto models' faces, according to Elle.com.
What makes freckled faces so alluring? Sarah Lucero, Stila's global executive director of creative artistry, tells Elle that painted-on spots give the illusion of no makeup. "Freckles instantly make the complexion look fresh, as if you have no foundation on," she says. "It will fool everyone into thinking you just have gorgeous, perfect skin, and that you're not wearing much makeup."

We agree with Lucero. Although the process may seem a little silly and time-consuming, it's an exciting way to transform your skin — kind of like how women used to draw on faux moles à la Cindy Crawford. Topshop has already started to feed the frenzy by selling pencils designed especially for freckle-sketching.
Head over to Elle.com to get the whole speckled story. Then, come back and tell us: Would you dot on faux freckles?
