We spotted this dramatic look during Paris couture Fashion Week at Fred Sathal's runway show, and we were instantly hooked. The gunmetal shade begins with a geometric edge on the inner corner of the eye before winging out, swan-like, along the top and bottom outer corners. To us, this looks pretty darn close to Natalie Portman's visage in Black Swan — without the side of crazy.
Oh, and fair warning: This isn't a look for the faint of heart. We tried to come up with ways to tone down the swan-eye but came up short. So, if you're going to go for it, make sure you keep the rest of your look fairly neutral. Just add some subtle contouring, a touch of powder to your brows, and a dab of nude lipstick. But, when it comes to those wings, the bigger, the better — which is the mantra we like to use when it comes to eye makeup. Who knows? The swan may edge out the cat as your new go-to animal inspiration.
