When Marc Jacobs puts out a worldwide request for new faces, you don't just stroll your way over to the model casting. You hightail it, road-runner style. So naturally, when Jacobs' own search for a muse for his fall '14 campaign kicked off in April over Twitter
, the #CastMeMarc hashtag cry was practically audible. And today, Jacobs — along with designers Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley who joined the Marc by Marc label last year — presents the photos that social media made possible.
Featuring nine new faces (all, appropriately, Twitter users), the debut campaign for autumn is a diverse lineup of men, women, and several
fans of technicolored locks. As WWD
reports, of the 70,000 #CastMeMarc submissions, the top 30 contenders reigned from nearly every continent on the globe. But, there's one thing that the final nine lucky #selfie masters do have in common: the claim-to-fame that they'll forever be knows as a face of a Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign.
