Photo: WireImage.The woman behind some of pop's biggest hits is getting hitched! Sia Furler used a recent red-carpet event in New York City to announce her engagement to director Erik Anders Lang.
The announcement marks a shift from the singer-songwriter's notoriously shy life. Last April, she confessed to The New York Times that she found fame to be a burden. "I just wanted to have a private life," she said. Furler hasn't starred in her newer music videos, and her recent appearance on Ellen found her singing the runaway hit "Chandelier" facing a corner of the set while Maddie Ziegler, the dancer from the video, performed the choreography.
Thankfully, Furler found a way to make the whole fame versus private life thing work. She and her fiancé have been sharing their relationship with Lang's Instagram followers — jokingly photographing Furler with a fake pregnant tummy and breaking the engagement news with a blurry snap. Lang is known for his documentary work surrounding golf but has contributed to Mad Decent videos, a Nicholas Sparks project, and more.
A major congrats to the couple. Perhaps another No. 1 single will come out of this. Fingers crossed. (Daily Mail)
