Stephen Colbert To Take Over For Letterman

Stephen Colbert will replace David Letterman as the host of the The Late Show, CBS has announced via Twitter.
The host of The Colbert Report had been one of the front-runners in the last several weeks. Along with him — Neil Patrick Harris and Jon Stewart were also considered favorites.
Though it's unclear whether or not Colbert will be taking his faux-conservative personality with him, the comedian has the improv chops and interview skills to do late night. And, as the lack of fallout from #cancelcolbert indicates, he's wildly popular.
When Letterman was initially tapped for CBS in 1982, he was pitched as an edgier, more risky comedian and appealed to younger audiences. With that in mind, Colbert is a great successor to that role.
Now, we wonder: Who'll fill in for Colbert on Comedy Central?
