The One Direction singer is said to be in the running for the role of Fiyero in the big-screen adaptation of Wicked. Besides his singing chops, Styles' skills include having really amazing, gravity-defying hair and getting tweens to squeal with delight. What more could a casting director want?
"He's top of the Wicked team's wish list to play the romantic lead role of Fiyero,” a source reveals to The Sun. "Moviemakers see him as a new Zac Efron and think he would be a perfect casting for a movie musical.”
Hey, if Marky Mark can bag an Oscar nomination, anything's possible. Stephen Daldry is rumored to be directing the musical, and, while we can't see anyone but Adele Dazim (er, Idina Menzel) playing Elphaba, Lea Michele may score the film role.
