Even more monstrous grocery prices. (Seriously, what's with the $10 half-gallons of ice cream?) But, it turns out that the Big Apple isn't the only city in America at the top of the dreaded overpriced list. Forbes recently calculated the standings based on things like housing sales and food and utility affordability.
New York and Honolulu took home the main prize with a tie for priciest metropolis. Following close behind was southern Connecticut (read: New York suburbs), Boston, and San Jose. Some surprising additions to the list include Essex County, MA and Santa Ana, CA. And, to our befuddlement, Los Angeles didn't even make it in the top 10 (just tell that to a first-time home buyer in Silver Lake!).
