Marco Polo Makes Online Stalking Less Scary

It’s 10 p.m. on a poppin’ Friday night — do you know where your friends are hanging out? This new location sharing app will tell you. Cleverly dubbed Marco Polo (you know, the blind game from your pool party days), it lets you send a pin of your exact location to your buddies. This way, you’re avoiding those, "Where are you?" texts. But, it’s also a double-edged sword, because you’ll no longer get away with saying “I’ll be there in ten minutes,” when really, you've yet to walk out the door.
While apps that allow you to broadcast that you’re trying that just opened eatery downtown isn’t exactly new to the Internet game, Marco Polo has a couple distinct qualities worth noting. First, you don’t have to send pins to all your friends at once. Instead, you can choose which of your pals receive the notification, and then they have the option of sending theirs back to you. Also, the app isn’t constantly tracking your coordinates like Find My Friends, so you can wander the streets without fear of being digitally stalked 24-7.
Marco Polo is already available to download now, so your days of “running into” frenemies and past lovers will be a thing of the past. (Tech Crunch)
