If you're not a mom, or, you know, a three-year-old, Sesame Street doesn't rank high on your DVR to-do list. But, we're here to tell you that the show is fun for the whole family. As the chic mommy blog, Elizabeth Street, recently pointed out, the Street has been playing off pop culture for some time now.
Even though the show's primary raison d'être is early childhood education, writers certainly don't hesitate to throw in a few goodies for parents and babysitters. In fact, Sesame Street has even done renditions of very non-G-rated hits like True Blood and Boardwalk Empire. Elizabeth Street rounded up the ten best spoofs, and all the clips have us cracking up. Our personal favorite is the gloriously acted Homelamb (pun intended), but that's just due to our unhealthy Carrie Mathison obsession.
