There's a new way to bring home the bacon that has nothing to do with cash. We're talking about the new Burke's Bacon Bar that just opened shop in The James Chicago. But be warned — if you're a vegetarian, you may want to skip this sizzling and crispy info.
While we'll always love David Burke's Primehouse, when a meal needs to be quick and dirty, there's nothing better than a sandwich to get the job done — especially when bacon is involved. Along with mini swine sammies ($4 each or three for $11), this bacon-influenced eatery offers satisfying (and non-calorie friendly) salads, sides, and desserts in a to-go fashion. Our picks? Crack Snacks, crispy tortilla strips with bacon and spices. And for your sweet-yet-savory tooth, there's bacon peanut brittle to motivate you to run an extra mile or two on the treadmill. Better yet, maybe you should get out those oversized sweaters a bit early.
Burke's Bacon Bar, 610 North Rush Street (at The James); 312-660-7200.
