Movin' On Up: Christopher Kane Announces A Bold New Hire

Christopher Kane is taking his brand to the next level with the announcement that Alexandre de Brettes, former Kering Financial Communications and Market Intelligence Director is to be his brand’s new CEO. This is the latest example of Kering’s benign and positive influence on the business, ever since it bought a majority stake in the label at the beginning of this year.
Before you rush to conclusions about what this means, listen to what brother-and-sister duo, Christopher and Tammy Kane have to say about the appointment, "We are delighted that Alexandre is joining our company. His experience at Kering is invaluable to us and his understanding and appreciation of our creative culture was what drew us to him. Alexandre's appointment puts the running of our business in very good hands and gives us a strong ally in the building of our company. Together, we will focus on organic global growth and protecting and nurturing the creative DNA of our business."
“Organic global growth.” Now, that is something we like to hear, particularly in these financially complicated times. What does it actually mean, though? For the time being, the creative duo are keeping schtum but when we spoke to the designer a couple of months ago, there was talk of expanding into handbags and leather goods. Fingers crossed that is now a real possibility. (Vogue)
