3 Runway Trends To Update Your Home

Like photogs in hot pursuit of street-style stars during Fashion Week, decorating trends tend to chase after runway styles. This year, we've seen clothes honor the feminine, with subtle gradients of ombré, delicate lace skirts, and dense floral patterns. So, since you're already wearing these trends, why wouldn't you want to be surrounded by them, too?
In that vein, we're showing you how to bring out the ultra-chic in your rooms — without veering into saccharine or overly florid grandma territory. And — not that we're competing with the sartorial side of trends — but you never have to worry about your home being too bloated to sport its new duds after an overindulgent night. If that's not motivation to redecorate, we don't know what is.

Hey There, Ombré
Just like with the 'dos and ensembles worn down the runway, in the home, ombré can create a romantic and dreamy visual effect. But this look doesn’t have to be entirely femme. Dip-dyed accessories that replicate rust patterns offer a blended color palette while still maintaining an edge. Are you a decor daredevil? Go bold with wall treatment — like in this space featured on Domaine — for a striking effect that sets a tone for the entire room.

Lace It Up
Doilies, hankies, and wedding veils be damned. Although it’s almost unavoidably pretty, lace doesn’t exclusively belong to a world of fainting spells and trembling porcelain cups bed trimming, valances, and table linens. In fact, when used in unconventional ways, colors, and materials, like metals, lace designs can be sharp and modern. In fact, we love how this laser-cut overlay is used to divide a bare, minimal space — it's effortlessly chic.

Garden Party
Florals are having a moment. Rooms, like this Sao Paulo haven featured on Domaine, are in full bloom with duvets covered in overgrowing poppy fields and chairs outlined with morning glory vines. Nurture a little nature in your nest with some garden-inspired decor. Keep things from looking too prissy by mixing big, bold prints with more delicate designs. Hey — this is one arrangement you don't have to water.
