It's not uncommon to be peering around a packed S.F. room only to find techy-eyesore-garments that would make any aesthete cringe — read: hoodies and bubble vests overload! And, while the hardcore geeks don’t seem to be getting any more stylish (unfortunately), the fashion set, on the other hand, is getting much more tech savvy and integrating those advanced elements into show-stopping garments and accessories.
According to WWD, wearable technology is having a major (and perhaps long-lasting) moment, from the highly anticipated Google Glass to innovative fabrics (like 3-D printed pieces) to airbag helmets, tech is not just changing the way we communicate, but is changing the way we dress as well. So, while we definitely don’t condone a Twitter dress — it makes perfect sense that fashion types would want a piece of this pie.
