We'll admit it: Ryan Gosling is probably our favorite Canadian export. But, on the sartorial end of the spectrum, we have a serious crush on Roots, a lifestyle brand based in — you guessed it — our neighbor to the north.
Lucky for us, we don't have to travel far to get our hands on the brand's chic wares, because Roots has just opened a new outpost in Venice and we can't wait to check it out. Housed in a cute, shingled white cottage on Abbot Kinney, the store stocks handcrafted leather goods from the brand's Toronto factory in addition to clothing, accessories, and home furnishings. Sure, the Gos may have an enviable red-carpet wardrobe, but Roots takes the cake when it comes to effortlessly cool Canadian style!
