Gird those toes — whether you're ready for them or not, gladiator sandals are back en vogue this summer. The heavy-strapped, super-flat style isn't the most flattering (especially if you don't have Kate Moss' gams), but that didn't stop designers from channeling Venus this season.
For Carven, going Roman meant going Greek, pairing up with footwear brand Ancient Greek Sandals, that is, and its banana-inspired steppers, of all things. And unlike cheapie gladiators, these ones use a variety of high-level leatherwork, and will last you much longer than Emperor Didius Julianus' reign (hey-o, fellow Roman history nerds!). The sandals will be available in Carven stores next year, with prices starting at €240 ($318.48 at the current conversion).
