La Mer & National Geographic Team Up — & The Results Are WOW

You already know that La Mer has a close connection with the sea — just see its origins to understand that. Now, the brand has teamed up with the underwater explorers at National Geographic to compose a short oceanic film that is, in a word, breathtaking.

To celebrate World Oceans Day, the collaborative film features renowned ocean explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle as she delves into the big blue abyss while promoting aquatic habitat protection. And, let us tell you, this lady's underwater skills put Ariel from The Little Mermaid to shame. Dr. Earle has led more than 100 marine expeditions, logged more than 7,000 hours underwater and, in July 2012, set a record for solo diving in 1,000 meters depth. In short, she's one of the most influential ocean experts of our time.

As if the video, the partnership and the out-of-this-world-she's-under-water expert aren't enough, La Mer is also launching its annual limited-edition Crème de la Mer jar to raise awareness for World Oceans Day. Still need an additional incentive? You'll feel extra eco-friendly knowing that La Mer has re-united with Oceana, the world’s largest international ocean advocacy organization, to support its Habitat Protection Campaign.

Check out the video to get an exclusive look into the marine splendor that is the origin of La Mer's skincare line and the second home of Dr. Sylvia Earle. And, take few minutes to appreciate the world's oceans, if you get our drift.
