Reese Witherspoon and her weekend antics may have been the big buzz at the recent Cinema Society premiere for her new flick Mud, but it was her costar Matthew McConaughey who caught our eye. The Southern-born actor ditched his signature cowboy hat in favor of some sartorial inspiration from across the pond: A Vivienne Westwood tartan suit.
McConaughey played up his inner British-dandy, even donning a chain closure for this three-piece number. While we're generally all about plaid here at R29, the jury's still out on this one. We have to give him props for taking a fashion risk (and the hefty fabric helps to pull attention away from his still-gaunt frame), but his getup isn't exactly easy on the eyes — especially when paired with the premiere's psychedelic step-and-repeat.
