If Tilda Is To Be Believed, Centipedes Are The Next It Accessory

wmag
We doff our caps to Tilda Swinton, who in this month’s W magazine wears not one, not two, but four centipedes on her face. Before you say it, no, they are not Photoshopped. The actress revealed the painstaking process it took to complete the shot: "Though they may look as if they were mechanically placed, we waited hours for these centipedes to crawl into their meaningful positions, decking me out with eyebrows and moustaches. 'Ceci n'est pas une moustache,' as Magritte might have put it.”
Magritte indeed; as both the photographer Tim Walker and Swinton were inspired by artists Salvador Dali, Giorgio de Chirico, Remedios Varo, and Leonora Carrington. While we are happy to experiment with our look around here, we’re not sure if we could go there. Perhaps we'll draw the line at insect prints, when it comes to this "trend." (Daily Mail)
